DESIGN CAPABILITIES
We have a vast amount of civil/structural and building design experience on a wide range of projects, including residential houses, commercial buildings, multi-storey buildings, car parking structures, retail projects, fast foods restaurants, warehouse developments, industrial structures, storage reservoirs, bridges and retaining wall structures. In addition we have been involved in numerous refurbishments and upgrades of existing buildings, including heritage buildings.
Our design services encompass the full range of disciplines, including building structure, site civil works and architectural design. Sub-consultants may be engaged for specialist services such as geotechnical investigation, fire engineering, building services and electrical design. Our multi-disciplinary team approach ensures consistency and increased efficiency, reducing the project cost and project design time.
We also provide specialist civil/structural design services for other architectural practices and have been engaged as a sub-consultant on numerous projects. On larger projects we have worked effectively as part of a team of design professionals under the direction of a lead architect or project manager.
Our involvement with construction companies has given us an intimate knowledge of construction techniques and costs. This knowledge is put to good use in arriving at cost competitive and innovative solutions to design projects. We are able to prepare budget estimates, feasibility studies, alternative designs, temporary works design and programming.
We have extensive in-house computer software, including Microstran structural analysis software and both AutoCAD and ArchiCAD draughting software. Drawings can be prepared in either AutoCAD or ArchiCAD, in sizes ranging from A1 to A4, with ArchiCAD offering powerful 3D modelling capabilities. All our software is regularly updated to ensure the latest technology is available for the design and drawing process.
PROJECT DELIVERY
Joyce Consultants Ltd aims to build strong relationships with its clients and offers a high level of service at reasonable cost, tailored to the project requirements. Being a medium size practice, both directors remain closely involved with each project from inception to completion. All our staff members are widely experienced in New Zealand design and construction practises and are highly motivated to ensure accurate documentation is produced in a timely manner. This ensures office overheads are kept to a minimum, which is reflected in our charge out rates.
